Solar pumping for water supply

Efficient water and energy management is a challenge for managers of water supply networks. In a scheme with high pressure on the environment, solar energy appears as an opportunity to reduce non-renewable energy consumption and eliminate CO2 emissions.

The Hydrologic Cycle Area has participated in the preparation of a study on a supply network which shows significant savings in the cost of pumping, together with a large reduction in CO2 emissions with the installation of solar panels to obtain the power of the pumps.
