WaVE (Water-linked heritage Valorization by developing an Ecosystemic approach) is a project that seeks to use and revalue water related heritage. Participants are not only interested in the preservation and development of heritage and nature, but also seek additional effects of socio-economic improvement and adaptation to climate change.
Together with other partners from various European countries, the Provincial Council of Alicante is trying to identify those policies that may be to give this value to the hydrological heritage and analyze the effects of them.
The project has a duration of 36 months (from August 2019 to August 2022) with a total budget of € 1.273.535,25 distributed among European partners that carry out similar tasks in relation to heritage.
The members of the Diputación de Alicante in the project are the municipalities of Breda (Holland), Ravenna (Italy) and Århus (Denmark), the Ister-Granum region (Hungary-Slovakia) and the Certimac (Italy) and University of Technology centers from Delft (Holland).
